Products ~ Agress® Seed Treatment Quick Facts
Agress® Overview
The agricultural industry is in need of more effective products to treat a host of crop diseases where current technology is either inefficient or poses environmental safety risks. Innovotech has developed Agress® Seed Treatment, initially for the bean, soy and general pulse crop markets. Agress® is a high oxidation state silver compound that effectively kills bacterial and fungal pathogens while being non-toxic to plants and animals.
The product has several important attributes:
- Unique effectiveness against both bacterial and fungal infestations;
- Competitive cost;
- Low environmental impact (reduced risk).

Agress®, Innovotech's environmentally friendly crop protection product, demonstrates its effectiveness as a seed treatment and foliar spray against bean blight.
Regulatory
Innovotech has initiated the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval process for this product, however, this product has not been registered with the EPA and is not available for sale or distribution. Any claim, reference to or implication that this product is approved as a pesticide is unintentional.
Efficacy
Laboratory testing demonstrated potent activity against a variety of disease-causing bacteria and fungi. Efficacy was also compared to existing seed treatments:
- Copper sulfate + Vitaflo-280 demonstrated reduced efficacy against biofilms of bacterial bean blight;
- Agress® is up to 100x more effective than Streptomycin;
- Agress® is bactericidal and fungicidal when applied to seed surfaces, providing up to 100% reduction of microbes.
Health & Safety
- Naturally occurring element = low environment impact
- Effective at very low concentrations = low environment impact
- No accumulation or residue detectable in plant tissues = reduced risk
- Low risk of microbial resistance = reduced risk
Research & Development
The Agress® label is currently being expanded to treat diseases of canola, corn, and wheat seeds.
Field Trials
- Agress® has no negative impact on the emergence or yield of dry beans;
- Amount of silver on treated seed less than soil background silver levels;
- No silver uptake in bean plants.
Greenhouse trials
- Agress® had no negative effect on germination, emergence or vigour on dry bean (pinto and great northern);
- Agress® had no negative effect on germination or emergence in chickpea (desi and kabuli), lentil, field pea or soybean
